I remember standing by my mom's sewing machine as she guided fabric through the machine; I knew not to touch, but I loved to watch. The steady humming of the sewing machine always meant that magic was in the works. By her hands, she would take simple fabric and transform it. So many of my childhood memories include my mom at her sewing machine. She tried for years to teach me how to sew; I always refused. I once told her, "Why sew when I have you? You can sew for me!". She passed away several years ago and as long as she was living, I never sewed. That all changed right after I got married. I dabbled in sewing here and there. It wasn't until my children were born, that I really saw my sewing blossom. Fast forward, now I'm the mom at the sewing machine sewing for my children.
The more I sew, the more I love it. The more I sew, the more connected I feel to my mom. The more I sew, the more I like think my children get a taste of how awesome their grandmother was.
Aside from the connection I feel with my mom, I truly love sewing. It is incredible to me how yards of fabric can take and make something beautiful. I especially love sewing for my children. They are my inspiration. It's safe to say if I need to unwind or if I'm stressed, you will either find me buried in a book or at my sewing machine.
Each time in my shop is made with lots of love. I like to think that each item is the result of my creativity. This shop is the result of time spent at my sewing machine sewing things for my children and myself. Enjoy!
